Has anyone used mulberry for smoking before? I had a friend at work offer me some and I would like to know if it is worth taking. I don't want a bunch of wood laying around if it not worth using. please advise. Thanks.

Yep... It's a sweet smoke so I use it along with something else, like apple or cherry.
I use mulberry all the time, go for it.

I burn pretty much mulberry and some ortamental pear. Whatever we have left over on the farm and season it. Maybe some weird maple and ash also.. it works great, season for 4-6 months like all wood

plenty of white and red mulberry and resulting hybirds in these parts, Its btu content is right there with white oak and apple. I find that it takes a while to season...much like hickory. I've had splits push water after 6 months...best to cut it when the sap is down
