Mod to Lang 84

He have our Lang 84 Deluxe for 3 weeks now and we have figured how to get the temperature equal on both sides and how to really control the temp within 5 degrees. We would love to made a modification and add a propane fire starter to it. Does anyone know of a retrofit kit to add a propane firestarter to a smoker?

The easy way is to use a propane brush burner. I use a brush burner to clean my cooking grates and I also have a T-shaped burner (from Kingfisher) that goes in my firebox. I use it for preheating while the chimneys are getting the charcoal ready.

I'd check with Ben Lang - he does a gas conversion for the concession trailer cooker - I know when I asked abount one for a standard 84 he wouldn't do it - with more pressure from manufacturers he may have one available now.
