Well, here's my final chicken and ribs before the American Royal. I was really proud of my results today. Hope these make ya hungry! :-D The third set of cut ribs would be my choice for turn-in for contests. I'd add two to it to give 'em eight though. Chicken skin was almost like another thin layer of meat! 8-)

I'm in agreement. Those ribs are makin me hungry!
Looks real good Jeff. Do you slather em while in the smoker or spray em?

I spray them, usually with a Dr. Pepper/pineapple/brown sugar spray but today I used just half apple juice and half pineapple juice. I coolered them for 30 minutes then unwrapped and put bbq glaze and a bit of squeeze butter on them and put 'em back in the smoker unwrapped for about 20 minutes.

That does it, I was thinking of thawing a few slabs of ribs for dinner Tuesday, but after those pics, I think I may go for some Chicken. Then again those ribs are mighty fine good looking eats. Maybe I should call in sick and stay home and cook both Chicken and Ribs.

Very nice Jeff! BTW, we tried your chicken suggestion this weekend with excellent results. Just before you turn the chicken, ribs and brisket in give them a spritz of apple juice for shine. Again, great job!

Why yes it is, Jay. Actually, it's your sauce on both. Used Sweet Heat with some squeeze margarine mixed in. Not sure that helped with the shine though.
Looks like I'm not going to make it to Columbia before the Royal so I'm trying to figure out what to do to get more! I'm out of rub AND sauce!

Glad it helped ya! But I was only sharing what I've learned. You can thank MoKan Meathead (Wayne) for that process.

Jeff - I could bring some back from Herman and give it to you at the Royal. I promise that the jars won't be completely empty!!

Hey, if you're willing to grab 2-3 bottles of Sweet Heat from Jay, I'll take them whatever way I can get them at this point!
Ohhh Jay?
