My name is Guy and I am happy to be one of the Bretheren. I have been looking for a haven on the internet for quite some time that deals with my most favorite thing.....BBQ. I have a newby competition team called the "2 Fat Polocks BBQ Team". We have have just gotten started but we are looking forward to competing at multiple events in 2006. Well, I am glad to meet everyone and just want to say howdy.

Welcome Guy. Several of the brothers have a Lang. It's a nice rig.

Note to the newer members: Please list your cookers in your signature line. That way we know what you are cooking on and can help you better.

Thanks all for the warm welcome. I am excited about being part of this brotherhood. Our team name originated last year when my brother Gary and I decided to smoke some brisket one Saturday. My brother arrived at 4:00 am on Saturday morning and we went about our business of cooking some Q. After about 14 hours and 3 cases of beer, the brisket wasn't the only thing that was done. Bro and I were feeling pretty good and we started sing to an oldies station on the radio. I guess after a couple of songs one of the neighbors had enough and yelled over the fence "Would you 2 Fat Polocks shut up". We had a chuckle and as you can tell, it stuck. Gary and I have been Qing for years and decided to try competition for chits and grins. We came in 20th and were pretty happy with out first contest as we didn't come in last, nobody died and I didn't have to sleep on the couch Sunday night, if ya catch my drift. We actually pulled a 6th in brisket. Now we are hooked.

At the Grill Kings we were actually between the BBQ Brethren and the team with the big screen TV. By the end of the night I swore I could read lips. We can't wait till the 2006 season as we will cook in more than 1 event. We plan to send one of us to BBQ school over the winter so we can figure what the hell we are doing. Being honest though, to us it's a hobby and wether we come in first or last as long as we had some laughs, some Q and a few beers we consider ourselves winners.
