Long Island -> Terre Haute, IN Gun Dog Pickup

I'm making a trip from Long Island, NY to Terre Haute, Indiana to pickup a hunting dog (English Setter). Any recommendations on good BBQ joints? Will be passing through Penn and Ohio - could possibly return through KY if any good BBQ there.

Big Shoe's on College Street (http://www.bigshoesbarbeque.com/), was pretty good in the day. It's worth stopping by just to see it anyway. Since the old man passed, it's not the same, though still better than a McRib.
