Howdy from Tn. I have a week old Bandera that I still haven't used yet(Plan to this weekend) and was searching the net for some hints and tips and came across this awesome site. I love to BBQ, but i'm new to smokers. I like to cook ribs a lot, so ribs will probably be my "Cherry Popper"(First smoke). After that, I want to do a Briskit. Any tips would be VERY helpful.
More about myself..... I'm 29, Married with Child. He's 5, in Kindergarden, playing Soccer. Daddy's proud. :D
Spent 6 yrs in the Army, 2 of that in Germany, all of that blurry!
Now I deliver Pepsi to the masses in Nashville, always looking forward to the weekend, with some beer, and my grill!

And that sums it up quite nicely!

Welcome brother, you came to the right place. Grab a cold one, and jump right in. Did 6 years in the Army myself, and had the most fun perfecting my beer skills in Germany. Also if you have question, just ask the answers will come. Nothing like a good quiet weekend at home with the family and some of your good Que.

A new Bandera. That's great, mine is older than dirt. It has one broken hinge a rusty firebox and the wheels don't turn very well. I like to call it "well seasoned". It also makes some pretty good "Q. may your Bandera bring you as much pleasure as mine has brought me.

Here are the pictures from my "first smoke" in the new bandera! After pulling them out of the smoker and cutting them up, I realized that they could've stayed on a couple hours. Now I understand what a necessity the baffle is. I noticed in the photo section someone was selling baffles and I would like to buy one. :D The ribs are great and I'm pretty proud of how they came out being it was my "first time".

Hope you all enjoy the pictures!

Cr, the memeber wo made the baflles hasnt com eby for a while, but we can walk ya thru building one.

Template is in our files section.

Sheet aluminum is cheap at home depot and easy to bend. If your daring, get thin gauge sheet stainless steel. You'll need a snips or steel sheer to cut and you can bend the stock with a makeshift break made out of a couple 2x4s and a rubber mallot.
