Sounds like we might have some electrical issues this weekend! They are now saying that if you want power, you need to bring a 150' extention cord. Let's see Motor home AC on a 110 -- 150' cord = no AC

Aw c'mon Jay! All you have to do it cycle it.....turn it on.....cord starts glowing....shut it off....wait for cord to quit smoking.....turn it on again.....just make sure there's no dry grass under the cord....LOL.

23 teams
Several Brethren getting to walk.

Congrats to Skip and family for getting the Grand Champion award.
Congrats to Team Q on their 5th place finish.
Congrats to BellyBro and BBII for their walks in chicken (9th) and ribs (7th).

Judges didn't like my pork (16th) and brisket (17th) this time..... :( I'm still trying to justify the judges marks, but I can't.......worst scoring I've ever seen, no consistancy. No way our presentations were worthy of 5s and 6s....you guys have seen pictures of our turn in boxes and made comments that they were some of the best you've ever seen....The brisket taste was right on, tenderness was close, pork was a sure top 10, in my books.
The Bellys did a great job.......Myself, I expected better from, and personally, I think it was there....Ol' Mr. Kick just didn't pull his weight in this one....

Again, congrats to all that got to walk......

Yeah Kick... in fact, one picture you posted of a pork box was THE best I've seen! Sounds like you didn't fare too well in getting experienced judges maybe?

Some times you eat the bear---Sometimes the bear eats you!!

Don't feel bad--We must have had the same judge 5's on appearance and the rest of the judges appearance scores were 8's and 9,s

Ray Charles Judge Mod

My Chicken didn't walk either---Skin was a little chewy

Hey Jay.........did you see where Puddin' beat me in brisket?
I should have kept my mouth shut and let him cook it to 140* and turn it in........

In fact........I think my helping days are over.....my students kicked my butt this weekend........

We had 5 smokers there, but the most impressive one was the one with the Grand Champ trophy on it

Good to see all of you there. I saw some of the scoring sheets and yes, very inconsistent. To see something score several 7s, 8s, and 9s and then have a 5-5-6 on it - bad judge.

Just keep cooking, Kick. Every judging panel is different!

Congratulations to all the brothers that walked. Way to go!!! I am proud of you all. Every one of you has a heart of gold and are always there to lend a hand. Thanks for being a true friend. :D :D

BBQ Brethren Brothers thanks for all the tips, hints, and for getting me pointed in the right direction. This was a BBQ Brethren Win. :)

I also experienced judging inconstancies. My pork finished 8th but I received one 4 and two 5s the rest 8s and 9s.???????
This was our 8th KCBS event and I have seen inconsistencies at everyone of them except for MO BLUES in Sedalia MO.

Congrats to all the contestants at Bass Pro.

Skip awesome job! We knew you would get there just a matter of when.

Like Jay said earlier. Any given Sunday! Sometimes you eat the bear sometimes the bear eats you.

Kick keep doing what your doing. 9 out of 10 Dentists surveyed can't be wrong!!!!!!!

Jay what can I say except try the cold water bath for your chicken next time! LLLLLLLLLLLLL LOL
