Arlin, we'll make a similar outing happen next summer in our neck of the woods. There's lots of floating areas in SoMO, AR and OK. We'll find a good place and have a Brethren Springfling!!

AR? Floating? Something maybe around Hardy? Now that's just a four hour drive for me.

Hardy's kinda center, top. Google it up and you'll see it.

Brian.....if you look at an AR map, it's at the top middle section. In fact, it's dry up there so you have to make a run to MO for beer and liquor. I've canoed the Spring River there many times and it's a blast every time I go.

Last time we went canoeing, we stayed at a place called Southfork Resort in Saddle, AR. This is the first time I didn't stay on the main river but on the south fork of the Spring river. It was three couples and we had the place pretty much to ourselves. Cabins were only about 45 a night.

http://www.arkansas.com/outdoors_sports/float/

This site has changed a bit since I bookmarked it last year, but it appears to still have info on all AR Rivers, what services are available, lots with phone #'s and some with rates quoted.

I'm contest prepping this week so don't have time to check any of it out right now. I've no doubt this is gonna be a great time.

I'll bring the pooper, Q while you float mod!!

How centrally located is Lake Texoma to your Spring Thingy?

I here they got a pretty good peanut place down there.

Bill, are you working on 10k for today?

Great Bass fishing on Texoma, at least there still was a couple years ago. Haven't been back for years.

Texoma is a lotta miles from Hardy. Someone coming from Texas could stop by, but to anyone else it'd be seriously out of the way.

Reviving this thread to gage interest level. If this is gonna happen, it's time to start making some plans.

Open to suggestions on dates/locations. Was thinking late May or early June (before rivers dry up)

If you're interested, please make sure you've signed in on the member map (see sticky post in cattle call) so we can try to find as central a location as possible.

Plenty of places have cabins and camping spots so everyone will be able to participate. Let's float Brothers (and families)!!

May's touch and go with me, due to kids' graduations, but June is great and I'm interested!
