I saw a post the other day where there was a link to an awesome looking burger. Made me want to post one of the best burgers I have had. The Vortex in Atlanta has some of the best burgers around with lots of great burger choices and they also have a sweet beer selection. So a bunch of us went out to eat their absolute monster of a burger. The Triple Coronary Bypass. The menu description is below along with what we put together for the estimated calorie count.

Four of us attempted and three (including me) succeeded eating it all. My buddy and I actually are doing a "food challenge" each month and this was March's challenge. No rhyme or reason to what we pic to eat as this isn't a specific advertised challenge at The Vortex. But was just a damn big burger we wanted to conquer.

If anyone is ever in Atlanta and wants a good burger this place rocks.

Here is a pic with my dumb noggin in there to give more of a burger size reference.

THE TRIPLE CORONARY BYPASS (aka THE SUPER STACK):
Made with two half-pound Vortex sirloin patties stacked inside three grilled cheese sandwiches, topped with two fried eggs, eight slices of American cheese, ten slices of bacon and plenty of mayo on the side. With this burger we choose your side for you, and it’s a big bowl of fries and tots covered in our cheesy-cheese goo. This super-stack is a heart attack waiting to happen. Enjoy! (No lettuce, tomato or onion)

There's no way in hell I'd be able to eat all of that. I'd try though.

Thanks. They have great tots and whatever jalapeno jack cheese sauce that was on the tots and fries was awesome.

It was a lot of food, but they use quality meat and cook it however you like so the fact that it is delicious helps. I will say I didn't eat much the next day :-P.

Makes me proud that you passed on the lettuce and tomato that would of just destroyed the whole thing! The very last thing you need was something HEALHTY!

You make the Brethren Proud!

I would try that....and probably fail miserably!

Looks awesome, although I guess if they served it with onion rings and maybe some fried green tomatoes just to provide some vegetable balance :heh: :heh: :heh:

I have to note, despite how good that burger looks, take a gander at the Burger (http://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/showthread.php?t=130189)Throw Down, you will see what Brethren can do with a patty of meat in their hands!
