Anybody have experience using Lilac wood?

I just trimed a bush and have the branches ready to go to the trash. But if Lilac's any good, I'll age it and use it. But, living in the city, space is at a premium. I don't want to save it if lilac not's a good smoking wood.

So, does it go out with the trash or get stashed behind the garage for later use?

Is it really "barky"?

I use to live in Lombard IL, the Lilac Village, for about 7 years. This was before my smoking days, but I recall after heavy winds, the lilac branchs all over the place had significant bark.

Just .02, but I didnt really help answer your question.

My guess would be that Lilac would NOT be good for smoking food. It doesn't produce a fruit or not but does produce a very fragrant flower. If it were me, I'd trash it. Just my $0.02.

I know that I've read and posted that Lilac is OK, but I was looking for the experience of the brethren.
