My NBBD has just about bit the dust so it's time to replace it. Problem is I cant find anyting good local. I have a budget of about $500. Can you guys help a brother out and point me in the right direction. $500 is the most the wife will part with, so that has to cover shipping too if I order online.

HAve you considered a Brinkman Smoke King Deluxe?

They are like $200 at Menards here, and it is really a reverse Bandera.

Hope you find something you like JErry

We might be able to better advise you if you tell us more about what you are looking for in a cooker.

Horizontal or Vertical
Capacity
Fuel: Wood, charcoal etc.
Need long burns needing a basket?

One important thing to remember is there is no perfect smoker. Each one has its advantages and disadvantages.

If you can get her to part with about $100 more...

Pretty big selection

pretty big prices too. I realize Q things aren't as plentiful in the NE but a little shopping will net you a good smoker or two for $500.

There...fixed that for you. I shopped every place I could think of within 30 miles of my house and searched on the net. For what I wanted to do, this web site was the best option with the best price. May not work out for promod??? Just trying to help where I thought I could...

In Jersey, you can find a myriad of gas grills and a few Weber Kettles at most places, but the idea of a smoker is very rare up here. Lowe's is the only big box store that had 'em and they were the Chargriller's. The only one in stock was in an open box. Pitiful selection in this state.

Hehehe - that's what I was first thinking but was trying to be nice. Lotsa guys on this site have coerced store managers at Home Depot and maybe even Lowes to get a Bandera delivered to the store. $300 retail thereabouts. I also suggest Amazon.com as Phil did.
