I searched and read a lot about how long to cure wood. (4-6months) I could not find a topic on hhow to cure it. Please point me to the link or tell me how to store and cure the newly cut wood. Ron

Ron, not much to it, just let it sit. If you can expose it to some nice breeze that's good, if you go ahead and split it, it'll cure a bit faster too. If you can keep it up off the ground to prevent rotting of the bottom layer that's helpful but if your source is cheap just put the crappy pieces on the bottom as they cost less than lumber or other things you might use to seperate the wood and the ground.

Don't confuse wet wood with green wood. Green means uncured and wet has just been rained on. There is a difference. The occasional rain won't inhibit the curing process much. Wet wood won't burn so once cured you might want to consider keeping some under a tarp or roof.

If you cross-stack it you'll create paths for better air-flow and more even drying.
