Does anyone know what I would have to if I was to demonstrate a pellet grill at lets say a farmers market or county fair? Permits ? ect ... or do I just go down to the health dept and ask and keep my fingers crossed ?
any help would be appreciated ...
Thanks,

Demonstrating a grill.....nothing.
Serving food off that same grill.....Call your local HD.

Yup good idea. Really, it's just like any other cooking show. You can see it but you can't try it.

In Iowa as long as you are not charging for the food, (you are giving it away) you do not need a health permit.
But if you are going to charge, you need a Farmers Market permit, which cost $100 for one full calendar year. You also need to set up with all the appropriate HD guidlines. 3 wash tubs, hand wash station, etc...

In California (San Bernardino County) atleast ...from what I was told at the HD, since a farmers market is a "ongoing event" I would need a Prepack food permit (Annual), and would need the three wash tubs, ect as long no on sight prep I dont need a full enclosure tent, so literally food has to go from the Ice chest in the package from the store to the grill ... Permit runs like $298 for the year but can be used at other events in the county.
Fun times!
