OK, I haven't been able to completely verify the truth to this, but was hoping one of the KC Brethren would be able to help out....

Heard on a local radio station this morning that Arthur Bryants was giving $12 worth of free Q to everyone on Memorial Day. Offer is supposedly good at all Bryants locations. Didn't hear any "catch" in the piece. PLUS Paul Kirk is going to be cooking at the Bryants by the KC Speedway.

If you go to yahoo and do a search for "BBQ in Kansas City" the first hit talks about free Q on Memorial Day but it's just a link to the Bryants info on yahoo (address, phone, etc).

I've got a guy who works for me that knows Paul Kirk and whose wife is the GM of the World Feast at the Ameristar Casino so he's going to check into it for me..... KCQuer, Jeff in KC, or anyone else heard of this? I'll post again if/when I find out more.

KCQuer, Jeff in KC, or anyone else heard of this?

I haven't heard of it personally but I've been a little busy and out of touch.

Sorry... just found this post. Did anyone ever confirm this? Did it happen? Personally, my Q is better than Bryant's anyway if you ask... ME!

Did it happen?

Jeff, yes it did happen. Can't remember how many were served but it was a lot, got some coverage on the local news.

Bryant's is good Q, don't get me wrong, but I have been to some KC BBQ joints that would make paying for it over free at Bryant's worth it. Some of the best BBQ comes from trailer smoker's in parking lot's. Now you will have to excuse me because I have to go out back and fire up the pit for todays cook off. What do you want to bet that it will be a lot better than most anything that I could buy "ready-made". By the way, I have already rubbed the meat with BigBull's Texas Brisket Rub that one of the brothers sent me a while back.
