View Full Version : BBQ Joints in Louisana and Georgia?

The BBQ Bacon family will be in New Orleans and Savannah come spring break 2012 and I'm wondering if there are any good BBQ joints I should be hitting up. We generally do Diners, Drive-ins and Dives and Man v Food joints while on road trips and were looking for other local joints as well.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated as the locals know!
Oh man I knew I spelled Louisiana wrong. Can some kind mod fix before I get flamed... and not in a BBQ way!
Hey Bacon- just saw this post. I'd you're headed to Savannah, my suggestion would be Wiley's BBQ on Whitemarsh island. If you want to stay downtown, check out Barnes BBQ (good, straight up pork). A lot of people around here like Angels BBQ, it was in the show "man vs food nation" recently. I find the pork a little mushy though.

Louisiana does not have alot of bbq joints. What part of Louisiana will you be visiting? New Orleans has a few as well as some of the outlying parishes.
let me know where you will be and I will get you some names and addresses.

I'll be sure to post closer to the trip. We are going to hit Mrs. Wilke's in Savannah while there for sure, other than that it's open.
