Putting a thermocoupler on it, Brian? Wireless feed to the laptop or cellphone?

Not near that bad but a 20 Type T Thermocouple feed to a HP Data Bucket RS 232 interface to a laptop. Got to map temperature in this puppy before I use it. Thinking maybe one minute sample rate What do you all think ? Hate to use just a can of biscuits, can not chart it in excel to share with my bros. As always thinking about you all first.

Brian,
Really interested to see your "Mods".
I have been 98.23% pleased "out of the box" with my WSM!
I have a "super low temp smoking idea" floating between DF and I, but not a Mod! Gonna try a "Mini-Minion Burn" next week.
Wanna see how you improve her from the factory

I use a temp/ humidity chip hooked up to a basic stamp and run a macro in excell to data log temps and rel humidity, can get what ever sampling amount i want.

Done Deal 8 mods or one mod 8 times. However you want to look at it.

If'n you haven't already, you may wish to go to Academy and get a larger sand (water?) pan. The OEM WSM pan is kinda puny.

Will you give a more in-depth explanation for those of us who have no idea of what you are talking about?

Uhhh - hable Ingles por favor
I sure am glad I'm not the only one out here that doesn't have a clue to what they are talking about!!! If someone could explain in pure laymans terms what is going on here, it would be greatly appreciated.

RS 232 can be kinda slow. Maybe you want to consider IEEE-1394 instead?
Besides, IEEE-1394 is, ahem, firewire.......

I'll give it a try:
PHYSICISTS DEMONSTRATE QUANTUM MECHANICAL NATURE OF HEAT FLOW, April 15
One of the hallmarks of quantum mechanics -- the laws of physics that apply on very small scales -- is the wave nature exhibited by sub-atomic particles such as electrons. An electron presented with two paths to a destination will use its wave nature to traverse both paths and, depending on the parameters of the two paths, will constructively or destructively interfere with itself at its destination, leading to a high or low probability of it appearing there.

In laymans terms, this equates to driving home after a real great night at the bar and thinking about which story you are going to tell when you get home and have to face the kitchenbitchamatic.
