I was asked if I would consider doing some pulled pork, for a family event for a good friend of mine. They are having between 20-30 people, and want pulled pork. How many pork shoulders should I plan on for that?

Two nice sized ones should do the trick. You will need 15 pounds or so starting weight to yield 7-1/2 pounds of finished product. That will give you 30 1/4 pound servings. Add more if you want to allow for larger sandwiches, seconds, and leftovers.

30 people at 1/3 lb pp = 10 lbs cooked = 20 lbs raw.
Dont use the shoulder, get butts, better yeild. :thumb:

thanks for the guidelines! I appreciate it. They haven't decided if they want me to do the cook yet or not, but if I do, I'll post and let you all know how it went.
