I've received an order for some smoked chuck roast. I'm paying $2.98 per pound and they want a 5 pound smoked roast. Being a complete newbie to this catering thing, what's a fair price to charge for the one roast?
P.S.---if they like it I'm sure they will order more soon. Thanks guys...and gals....

Do they want 5 pounds of smoked meat or a 5 pound roast smoked?
The problem is that you have to burn as much fuel and do about as much work as you would do for a large cook.
Can you set some sort of minimum cost for your effort?

Sorry....they want me to smoke a 5 pound roast. I will have other stuff in the smoker for other people so the charcoal/wood will not be for just the one roast. Thanks.....Dan

I would charge $12/pound for finished weight.
