Just learned of the theft of a Klose pit in DFW. Posting this here since a pit like that might show up someplace a brother might notice it. I asked for a plate # and anything that might make it stand out from similar pits by Klose.
thank you...no plate
did have red/white reflective tape on nose and wheel wells, also the back
burner by the firebox is pretty unique, i just had that added last fall as
well as front storage box, the divider in middle of two horizontal doors
opens up so i can put a whole pig in there

That sucks. I'll keep an eye open.
Time to start putting hidden serial numbers on pits. At least make some very identifiable modifications.
That's just wrong. I hope when they find the culprit he goes to trial in front of a Texas judge who likes to relax by tending the pit and turning out good Q.

No doubt and food for thought for all us that have rigs or planning on getting one in the near future. Having some unique identification marks where the crackheads cannot find them is a great idea.
Hell, I bet someone comes up with a lo-jack or GPS enabled tracking device son for these bad boy's!
It is a real shame that one cannot have anything nice without some tard coming along in one broad sweep, whisking away with your worldly possessions! GET A ROPE FELLAS!

Not sure, some get'em free!
The guy(s) that got that one should be slow roasted in the unit when it is found :!:

What a shame - that wouldn't even fit in my back yard. Condolences to that dude.

Stealing a rig like this should be a capital offense. It looks like a working rig and when you steal a working person's tools you deserve to be smoked. I hate thief's. I also think I saw a rig just like this one going North on I-135 through Wichita, KS about three weeks ago. I cannot be sure if it was the same rig and do not remember the vehicle towing it, but a guy like me takes notice of such things when I see them driving down the road.
