I'm heading to Dallas for a quick business trip and have 1 night available. Any recommendations for the BEST BBQ in town?

Honestly, IMHO, look for a good to great steak restaurant.

The best one is Meshacks, but you gotta go early. They will run out. It is a shack, but man o man the place is worth it.

You gotta go to Lockhart Smokehouse, its great! They have Kreutz sausage.

The next is out by the airport called Hard 8. That one is very cool, food is good, service is great.

Gotta go to Sunny Bryans, the original. Food is ok, but its a historical place.

Please! Dickies? Would you send a friend who wanted a good burger to Wendy's?

http://www.fullcustomgospelbbq.com/ is THE place to find reviews. The Pecan Lodge, which had the best bbq in Dallas, sadly had to stop serving bbq while they get their new pit installed. Urbanspoon. come one now!

E X A C T L Y my point!!!

'round here we judge good BBQ joints by their Brunswick Stew, of which VERY few are wuff-a-dam.

Yep, drive to Hard 8.

They opened a Coopers in Ft Worth in front of Billy Bobs, but I haven't had a chance to try it. If you're close, I'd hit the original Sonnys.

In fact, just read that Meshacks was rated one of the best in the country.

Of course, anything names Garden and Gun has to be awesome.

Thanks all. I ended up renting a car in order to get out to Meshacks at 10:00am. I knew I was in the right place when I saw 5 other guys waiting for the place to open @10:30! Brisket was crimson-ringed, pull-apart awesomeness. Ribs tasted great but were essentially trimmings so I was dissapointed there. I also tried the hot links (keilbasa maybe) that was probably my favorite....something I've never tried doing myself. I'll definitely throw one on next time the UDS is smoking.
