Is pork prices coming down?

Bobak's in Naperville (Ron_L and MadDawg) has cryo 2 packs of baby back slabs for only $2.99#. Cheapest price I've seen in a while.

What you all paying?

Best deal I can find advertised this week is $3.99, which is about as low as I remember them going in the last 6 months. That's usually for racks that have been frozen too. I'd be cookin some BBs at that price

I believe these racks are frozen also Jorge.

Today I will be picking up previously frozen BBs for 3.99/lb (which is discount on what they have been usually) and Pork Butt for 1.59 a pound. Will also be getting the (heavily trimmed) beef ribs for .88 pound.

I'm going to have to check tomorrow. Sam's is consistently the lowest in town at $3.97/lb (Alberton's is a dollar more than that), and the last time I looked it was still stuck there.

I think they are open to the public anyway. Not worth the time to go there. I would have to buy an absolute crapload of stuff to make it worth the time and the mileage.

Down here in NOLA, every few months...I see BB ribs for about $2.99 / lb....on occasion a little less...I stock the deep freeze at these prices.

Lately it seems the Boston Butt roasts have been the el cheapo to get. They sell them 2 in a cryovac bag at the grocery stores here for $0.99-$1.00 / lb. I've got more of these than I know what to do with right now.

Good thing I do...I've just never been totally pleased with the butts like I have with the briskets and hams. I can't seem to get a good smoke ring on them...just bland...smoke doesn't permeate for me well enough...but, I've got about 8 or so of them in the freeze I can keep playing with...

Danish cut

Never tried them.

I've had - tasted kind of gamey/wild. Didn't care for them - these were actually imported from Denmark, maybe spoiled in transit?

Need food license.

And they have cuts not available at the butcher (re: prime rib Mod Phil does)

And if you didnt drive those farking gas guzzling trucks, it is mere pennies per mile.

I was actually asking for me, not you. Let Me Use Your License Mod

Greg,
Join Outdoor Cooking group on Yahoo.

The main page has a picture of a trailer smoker that would need a crapload of stuff put in it to make it cost effective.

Want me to put you in contact with him?

Cryopac of two butts with the bone is $1.29/# here at Smart and Final. Spares are generally $1.89 in the Cryo.

Hmmm...Albertsons has Pork Riblets on sale for 99 cents per pound. Might just try those out!
