I look forward to all the knowledge here as I get more serious about BBQ. I just picked up a used red Weber from Craigslist that combined with my black and yellow 55 gal barrel should make a pretty ugly drum smoker. Any advise on UDS would be great.

Good to have you Barry.

Welcome to the besr clubhouse on the web!

There is the "be all end all UDS thread" in Q-Talk. All you might ever need to know about building and using a UDS.

Thank you all. I am going through the UDS thread but, there is a lot of material there to weed through. I started working on my drum this weekend and hope to have it burning this week.

Welcome from the Hoosier state gospeedbarry!! I used a Weber kettle to finish my UDS, but please don't cut up a redhead. They don't make them anymore. You have a sought after peice of equipment there.

I'll trade you for a black one, it doesn't matter what color it is to me. I got this red one plus a charcoal chimney for $20 off craigslist.
