Nice rig, Sami. Looks like you had better delivery people than Phil. They brought 2 trucks- good use of the lifts.

Yours is better. Like the pullout shelves and the wrapped prep shelf mod.

But I still coulda poured you a better slab of concrete to put it on.

Here's the list of mods for ****s & giggles

1/2" firebox w/ lid and grill

60" main w/ counterweight

8" locking casters

Ball valve for main clean out

2 Row Pull out shelves & pull outs in upright

Log Lighter

2 piece Charcoal grate in main

Raised the unit so the main grate is 42" instead of 33"--I hate bending over all day

Front table extended to 16"--from 10"

Some Rib racks

Dan,

how did you raise the unit?

Samichlaus
02-16-2005, 10:41 PM
I just asked them to build a taller one. I think it was $60 more to raise it and extend the shelves 6".

This is a very nice unit. Congrats. I think its kinda cool how they used 2 trucks lifts to bring it down.

I'm in Ventura County so I will have to stop by.

Really like this BYC. Raising it up and extending the shelves seems like a no-brainer. But do you really need the 1/2" firebox in California?

I've got a buddy in Youngstown who bought a 56 x 20 Klose about three years ago now. The day it arrived, he had the bacon fat all melted in the pan and was all ready to go! The truck driver dropped it off the lift gate and bent the hell outta the stack and counterweights. He hadda load it back up and send it back! Can you imagine the waves of disappointment?

That's a nice cooker! I like the idea of lifting it up so your back doesn't give out. How much does it weigh? I think about 900 lbs.? Can you get it mobile for contests easy enough?
