Hello BBQ Brethren and sisters!
I am 33 and have been in front of a grill since the age of 7 or so.
I am of Korean American heritage and of course, "WE BBQ"!
I have been cooking "Low 'n Slow" for the past 8 years now and finally decided to have a go at BBQ forums since I have been avidly involved in Automotive forums and into cars for the past 15+ years I thought hey why not share my BBQ experiences with members who have the same in common!
I hope to make some friends, discuss projects I have to build smokers, welding techniques, painting BBQ's and cars, almost any type of smoke and BBQ cooking!

Welcome! I hope you share lots of Korean flavor profiles with us. I'm really big on fusing Asian flavors into American "style" BBQ. Right now I'm using a lot of gochujang in my sauces. Love the stuff.

Often times many of us meet at Phat Matt's BBQ in Oakland to discuss BBQ and hang out...

BBQGRAIL, Thank you for the welcome and I will share some of the Korean Twists I throw into some of my American Stye BBQ. Yes Red Pepper Paste is a favorite base for a lot of our sauces, especially my favorite "DeaJiBulGoGi" Ohh Phat MAtts? Never heard of the place but I may be downto hang out and talk Q. I been getting my meat from Whole Foods since all the other spots got some meager rubber they call beef.
I just picked up a brand new Weber Silver 22.5" from Home D. since all the used ones did not appeal to me. I did not use or season it yet because I may just put it on top of a 30 GAL steel drum and make it into the smoker chamber. We'll see what Happens!

Welcome aboard, You can share some of that Korean BBQ knowledge anytime! How about some beef rib and sauce tips?

I will and thank you for the warm welcome everyone again!
I am sure you all already know the basics of Korean Marinade are
Asian Pear , Red Pepper Paste, Honey and Ginger & Loads of Garlic.
I guess on these forums you need to host your own pictures and image files?

Thanks guys.

Welcome from North Alabama

Hello North Alabama!

So tell me this guys, was BBQ really invented in Texas, because I would imagine it was invented when a cave man killed his game, then roasted it over a fire on wooden stick.??Humm.

Ok, I just read this thread will be locked and is for introduction purposes so here are a few photos of me and some BBQ. 2 of them are gas pics, I feel it is a sin but not at my home! Hardwood and wood chunks only! I also slipped in one photo of my Kamado up in the Sac house which is original and unbroken except the firebox i put together like a puzzle when cleaning out and the vent lid my mom broke! enjoy.
