I'm in downtown Dallas on business and want to take my protege out for the best Brisket in town. He has a car so we can drive a little. I made it out to Rudy's in Frisco last time I was out here, but wasn't sure if I should consider somewhere else for this trip.

All suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Big D! My house has the best brisket in Dallas. But you'll have to wait until Memorial Day weekend to taste it. :becky:

Since you're in downtown, I recommend the original Sonny Bryan's on Inwood Rd. (http://www.sonnybryans.com/restaurants/original-inwood.html)

Big Al's (http://bigalsbbq.com/) is also good although I haven't been to their new location. Their ribs are terrific.

Follow-up report. Sonny not so sunny. Brisket and onion rings were cold. Ribs were good, but not good enough to make up for the rest of the meal. The sauce was really good, but I don't feel the need to return on my next trip.

Glad to say I made it there and take in the history, but my guess is that it's best days are far behind.

Not sure about Big D, But I had some good brisket at Risky's at the Fort Worth Stock Yard a few years back
