None of the above wasn't a choice...

As of this evening, I have an 8:00 meeting in Minneapolis on Monday morning, so I'll probably be on an airplane during the game...

Fark...

Went with the party option in the poll. I'll be at my folks place. My sister will be there so I'm thinking ribs, wings, and whatever else I come up with and have some other folks come over. I don't have a dog in this fight, so the day is more about the food, family, friends, and commercials.

Well, this Sunday is the Sunday before Mardi Gras (I live in New Orleans). I'll be out partying in the streets...the big parade of the day, Bacchus is that evening. They mentioned something about maybe hanging tv screens off some of the floats...but, I figure I'll be having a better party here at the parades than any old Super Bowl party would allow...

How many chicks are going to be flashing ya their chest for beads at your party??

:-)

I'm hoping to fire up the smoker Next weekend....after about 2 weeks of this (and I've ridden in one parade, Saturn, last night, and am in Excalibur tonight)....I"ll be ready for a nice quiet weekend at home...cookin'.

The cook that will never end. Original plans were for ribs, porkloin done jellyroll style, some turds, and sausage. Detoured into Elgin and Lockhart to pick up some of the best sausage in the state yesterday. Today nachos done in the smoker got added to the list, and then reading about TK's brisket forced me to take one of those out of the freezer as well! Then I remembered that I need to smoke a brisket for one of my Mom's docs. I'm starting to feel like Gilligan. The 5 hour cook has turned into an all day event. So...2 briskets, one stuffed pork loin, 20 lbs of sausage, babybacks, turds, nachos, and some country ribs if they have any left at the grocery store. I need more beer. Super Bowl should be every weekend!

JeeZZ,
You farkers are insane.
I go on a hiatus for a while and we get our butts hacked into, & no telling what else (Bill don’t answer that) Let me start off with a THANK YOU to our left coast brothers, and of course you too Pooh. God my email went nutz!!
Now, for the question at hand. Party!!!!!!
I’m finally getting the chance to cook again. Damn, I hope I remember how. I’m doing 3 briskets and about 4 racks of baby backs for a party tomorrow.
Enclosed are the pics of the beginnings of my brisket attempts. The ribs go on the beast tomorrow (different wood) not as much time & less effort. Ok, so I’m trying to stretch a good thing. SUE ME!!!

7:18 AM Cental. Fire has been going for two hours. Steady farking drizzle falling. Chimney cap mod. Grabbed an empty 1 Gal. can from the garage and took the snips too it, leaving just enough of the sides to create 3 legs. Hope this works.

9:00 AM. No drizzle but thick fog. It rolled in while I was in the house and for a second I thought it was smoke that had come from the beast, thick, nasty, white smoke....

Fatty came off a little while ago. Breakfast of champions! Warmed some tortillas and mixed the sausage in with eggs and hashbrowns. A little salsa or pico de gallo and and it was the next best thing to sex...or at least what I remember sex being like. Fatty breakfast tacos. Try it, you'll like it.

Finally finished them at about 5am this morning.
In the cooler till 7 or so. Well, I took this one out for a photo op. Others are still waiting to make an appearance. That’ll happen around 5 this afternoon, along with the baby backs that are in the beast now.
Damn, I’m tired, I ain’t used to this sh!t no more.
Two hours sleep just ain’t cutting it, but sure is fun.
Have a “Super” day and don’t lose too much!!

I'm going to the local saloon. I am running the $50 per square board. I made up a buttload of pulled pork and am currently making some dip with cheese salsa and fatties. We are drawing numbers by 1, starting a Texas hold'em tournament at 2 and putting the grub on right before the big game. Everybody from the neighborhood will be bringing dishes to pass, including a big old pot of bagna caulda. MMMMMMMMMM

Well Greg,
Are you sure your not going to be down my way for this Super Bowl Party, cause that’s exactly what’s going on in my neighborhood. Right down to the pools & dishes that the folks bring. My contribution being brisket & ribs, by request.

Well, I'm gonna miss the Superbowl this evening...heading to the parades...Bacchus is the big one this evening..http://www.mardigrasneworleans.com/Bacchus/

But, with my B-day in mid Jan...and all the Mardi Gras partying (I actually rode in 2 parades)...I'm not done much to clean the house...hell, the Xmas decorations are still up. So, next weekend...gonna clean and fire up the smoker...and cure and smoke a 22 lb whole ham.

So for me..Popeye's fried chicken and red beans and rice...

Enjoying seeing all the good "Q" going for today...
