Maybe I just got lucky and got good neighbors on the dark side. Andys buddys were great all weekend and their friends were on one side as well.Pig Newton on the other so we were well entrenched

Wish I could go and judge again this year. I had a blast all weekend long. But I plan on cooking the Sam's Regional in NY that weekend.

We have qualified but won't be going back this year because we are hoping to be cooking the Sam's Club regional. Our spot was #078 and it is one heck of a walk to turn in but you could not ask for better neighbors and it is a good time but you don't have to worry with the riff raft! It is a great spot and I would recommend it to any first timer like we were last year!

Do they put you on the invitational side if you qualify? I signed up for a 20x25 space (cheap), but we have qualified and we are cooking the invitational and the open. We're just proud to be there this year.

Me too! Was invited in 2006 but didn't go. Swore to myself I wouldnt go until I was invited again, and IF invited I would not miss it a 2nd time. We decided to make a run at our "best effort" in 2011 and the BBQ Gods smiled! We are going! Woo Hoo!!

We were in spot 078 a few years ago. Agreed this is a good spot if you are wanting to be away from the insanity of the dark side. Lot of good folk from Texas in that lot as well.
