I had this idea while watching a guy make pasta on TV.

What if you took something like this http://www.nccn.net/~aaburco/MANROLLR.HTM and used it on a very thin setting to run chicken skin through. I might be wrong, but I cant help thinking that it would squeeze the fat and moisture out of the skin.

As of right now I'm not scraping skins myself, but if I ever go back to doing it I might have to try something like this. Might save alot of tedious work.

I don't know. I guess you could try rolling your skin with a rolling pin and see if that helps. That's basically what this machine does, albeit more quickly.

I would imagine it would tear the skin but it might be worth a shot. I would not even consider using my pasta maker for it since I would not want to clean it.

I might give it a shot with the rolling pin on a cutting board.

And yes I can Imagine it might make a disgusting mess in your roller.

I used a method similar to that for awhile.. used the back of a spoon and rubbed in little circles.. pushing the fat to the outside as it warmed up. It worked... but it took forever.
The amount of fat that comes out of a single thigh skin is freaking gross.
I imagine a pasta roller might work as well??

If you take a very sharp filet knife and almost lay it on its side...you can take the fat off the back of a skin in 3-5 passes (30-45 seconds).

Give it a shot...we were the butter knife scrapers until a wise man showed us the errors of our ways.

It plays after this video ends...Rub runs off to grab his filet knife...wait for him...he's coming back.

I've been working on the filet knife method with great success also. Beats scraping by about 100x!
