We are 60 days from the inaugural (rebirth) of The Lexington BBQ Battle and Festival.

Held over Patriot's Day weekend, April 16th and 17th, we want to offer an early season option for those of you a little stir crazy in the Northeast.

This will be Meat@Slim's first event as an organizer and we are looking forward to hosting the field.

Hope you can come cook with us!

Sat. for us too. Looks like some wicked good weather! No stakes will be interesting. Looking forward to seeing how the real pros deal with it. This will be our first foul-weather comp. Hopefully years of foul-weather camping will help us out. Any best known methods will be appreciated!

Makes me happy to have both of my kids coming as runners. :becky:

Of course, who knows what condition the box may be in after jumping in every puddle along the way. :tsk:

We dumped our gear off a few hours ago, let's just say I call dibbs on the space under the giant tree to stay dry and get hit by falling timber

We did WilliePalooza last weekend and it too was horrendous at night. Congrats to all of you for sticking it out and making it through the night. We had two cinderblocks for each of the carport's eight legs. We were also anchored to our trailer, a friend's car and a marine cooler full of meat and ice. That was before the worst of it. Come 2 AM we tied up to the hitch on our truck and another marine cooler. With wind gusts up to 55 mph, it was scary. I suspect you got all or most of this during the early morning hours. However, somehow we managed to get our first ever trophy - 2nd place brisket!
