Rhana and I headed down to Nor-Cal as guests of Ravenswood Vineyards next Friday and Saturday. We will be staying at the River Terrace Inn (http://www.riverterraceinn.com/)in Napa...perhaps we can hook up for a drink or two with any local Brethren in between functions. Here's a bit of our itinerary...

Hey Bob and Larry...we're very close to Oxbow Market! :thumb:

Dinner: 4:30 p.m. – VIP tour and tasting of current release wines followed by dinner prepared to accompany our wines at Ravenswood Winery, 18701 Gehricke Road, Sonoma, CA.

Saturday, February 12, 2011
10:30 a.m. – VIP combinable tour and tasting at Robert Mondavi Winery, 7801 St. Helena Hwy., Oakville, CA. Your trade visit may be combined with other guests.

I am in, sounds like a good time. Ravenswood used to be one of the best hosts in the Valley, hopefully, they still are.

The Oxbow, as you know is incredible, I would try to make some time, if you can, to hit Morimoto Napa, new to the marketplace and my buddy the food snob says it is more than worth the visit.

I've heard good things about it. It's not sushi. The 16oz australian waygu ribeye ($75.00) is probably pretty good...

If you want to make a slight detour and come down 99 instead of 5 we could meet up at Sierra Nevada Taproom for a beer. Lunch also if you have time. Let me know.

Been out there about 10 years ago.

I understand a lot of wineries are charging for wine tasting these days. Still worth a couple bucks and I don't blame em, but that wasn't the case when we went out there (still plenty of other ways to come home a little lighter in the pocketbook, though).

No wimpy wines! :-P Get u some of that grapevine BBQ

We were there last Spring...some places were charging $25.00 for rasting...the average was about $10.00 per person. We lived there in the early 90's when it was free or just a couple of bucks.

What time did you want to have lunch, I am thinking we might want reservations. Or not, we can play it by ear as well.
