Like so many on here, I am gearing up for the 4th!

I bought beef short ribs yesterday that were vacuum packaged. The seal was good and the use/sale by date was Jul 11. I just noticed the seal had broken on the short ribs. I have since wrapped them in a few layers of plastic wrap and one layer of aluminum foil. They are on the lowest shelf in my fridge.

Is there anything else I should do to ensure food safety for these short ribs?

Keep cold and give them the smell test. Your nose is the judge.

If worried and the store is close, you could return for a sealed package.
